Sponsor an ANT Animal: Sally
Healing Hearts
Born: 2004-2005 (Exact age unknown)
Sex: Mare
Color: Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail
Breed: Haflinger x Quarter Horse
About Sally:
After Sally’s life-long friend passed away in 2020, her owner decided to lease her to ANT for some new friends and meaningful purpose. While it took Sally some time to adjust to life in a herd situation, she has made great friends with the other herd members. Sally worked with kids most of her life at her previous home, so she naturally loves all the attention our participants give her. She particularly loves helping out with day camps where she meets lots of new young friends! Sally can be feisty and opinionated but always makes us laugh. She's a loyal friend and admirably protects her human and horse friends alike. Active & energetic, Sally likes to be challenged by doing riding patterns and maneuvers, and very much enjoys being out on the trails (especially if snack breaks are involved).
Health: She has arthritis in her hocks and needs injections. Very easy keeper so treats need to be fed sparingly and she always needs a grazing muzzle when turned out on grass to limit her sugar intake.
Work Experience: Sally has more experience in draft horse training than training with a rider. She is gaining a lot of riding experience at ANT.
